Love her or hate her, Detective Inspector Heather Filson will be coming back in January 2024 in THIS LITTLE PIGGY, her second solo Scottish crime fiction novel.

If you enjoyed THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY then I’m confident you’ll enjoy this book, too, as it plunges Heather into another high stakes case, while revealing a bit more about what makes her tick.

Here’s the blurb, which gives you some idea of what you can expect when the book publishes on January 9th.

Scottish crime fiction novel about DI Heather Filson by JD KirkTHIS LITTLE PIGGY

When a much-loved Kilmarnock police constable is found beaten to death in his home, all signs point to a burglary gone wrong.

But, when a second officer is slain while walking the beat, it becomes clear that something much more sinister is afoot.

Somebody is murdering cops.

Harassed by an infuriating new partner and a teenage true crime podcaster, DI Heather Filson must track down a brutal killer while tensions between the police and the public explode into violence.

With rioting breaking out across Glasgow, and running battles filling the streets, Heather’s latest investigation is no longer just a murder hunt. It’s a race to stop Scotland’s largest city from tearing itself apart.

This Little Piggy is the second DI Filson novel from bestselling Scottish crime fiction author, JD Kirk.

Let me know what you think. Are you a fan of Heather? Did her last outing win you over? Are you looking forward to this new book? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I enjoyed the first book. Heather is no Sinead, but she is growing on me. Knowing some of her back story helps. Looking forward to the next book.

I really enjoyed the first Heather book. She’s not the most appealing character in the Logan books but she becomes much more interesting and likeable in her own book. Can’t wait for the next one.
